She’s A Lady…..bug
Okay, tell me if I’m crazy. The other day it was so cold that it was flurrying outside. Yes, you heard me. FLURRIES! In the middle of October. It’s not even Halloween yet!!! But today, it got so warm the ladybugs were out trying to find a home for their winter hibernation. And I don’t mean 1 or 2 ladybugs, I mean swarms of them. My house was attacked by swarms of ladybugs today.
Now, I’m not one for insects or any kind of creepy crawlies. Ladybugs…sure, they’re harmless. Sure, they’re pretty (if you look at them from afar). But they’re not my cup of tea. Especially when they covered my whole front door and all my front windows. I mean literally COVERED. It was like Invasion of the LadyBugs. Then they started crawling into the house from some cracks through the door insulation. Again, not just 1 or 2 but more like 20 - 30. So since I didn’t want to kill them, I started putting them into an old water bottle that I had. And that totally grossed me out. I wasn’t getting them fast enough.
So I pulled out the handy Dustbuster. That thing worked wonders.
Vrooom vrooom. In one went.
Vroom, vrooom, vroooom There goes 2, 3, and 4.
By the time I was done, I must’ve had about 25 of them in there. And there they sat until Papa in Suburbia came home and took it outside.
Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who had this problem today. Some of my friends had the same problem. One friend, as far as New Jersey had the same issue. Hmmmmm….it must be ladybug season.
*SIGH* the joys of having a house in the suburbs. I guess I should be thankful they weren’t spiders…..BLECH!!!
P.S. - I would’ve included a picture, but I was too grossed out and too busy Dustbuster-ing to go hunt for my camera.

You too?!
We have them swarming around our house as well. I thought they were flies at first and figured there was a dead bird outside or something, but they were all ladybugs!
